Hi Folks, I am back in Aswan now after having a rather extended stay in Dahab. After the initial ferry delays there was more bad news, we discovered our new crew Sean & Bridget were missing and as we had already met them briefly we were confused and surprised when they didn't turn up for their induction meeting. After frantic phone calls to our previous guide Tania and to the local hospitals we joked that they had done a bunk and run off with the kitty money, some joke, it turned out that in fact they HAD done a bunk and run off with the kitty money. The whole trip looked like it was going to fall to bits, but our Egypt Guide Tania stepped in and came straight back from Cairo, where she had just arrived with her new group to tidy up the whole mess. Luckily we haven't had to hand over any more money and the insurance companies will probably have to fight it out amongst themselves to figure out who will cough up the cash, unless of course they can recover it from Sean and Bridget. Last news is Bridget is denying all knowledge of the money going missing and Sean has gone completely AWOL, I know who my money is on being the culprit, but I should say the information here is all alledged at this time before someone sues my ass. Anyhow, we are picking up a new driver shortly and Tania is going to come back in a few weeks when we get to Kenya and do the rest of the Africa trip with us, so good news the rest of the trip should all go ahead as planned. Right now we are killing time in Aswan until we catch the ferry to Sudan, which is due to be on Monday, several days later than planned, and I have to say after nearly 5 weeks in Egypt we are all just dying to leave and are planning a border crossing party...nothing else can go wrong....can it???
