Holland, Netherlands, Dutch…so many different words, but don't most people think the name of the country is Amsterdam?Yes, Amsterdam is a popular favorite, not because of masterful architecture or brilliant museums, but only for the debauchery that occurs in this canal riddled city.Sex, drugs and a general escape from reality seems to be the special of the day in Amsterdam.From the "Feel Good Coffee Shop" to the window shopping for a woman red light district, Amsterdam offers a little debauchery for everyone.You may just want to urinate on the street, and I found out that in Amsterdam that is just okay!It is a pity that such a lovely town in my opinion has such a black mark.There are truly some great things to see in Amsterdam besides the stoned, drunk and horny.

Before arriving in the Netherlands I was able to enjoy yet another series of well layed out, beautiful German towns.Bremen was an unexpected wonder and it was nice to be able to leave Germany with a really good taste in my mouth.If Venice is the CITY of canals then the Netherlands is the COUNTRY of canals.Everywhere you turn every city, every field seems to be planned around canals.It really is pretty cool.

So, A day in Amsterdam and I will be ready to hit Belgium which is next on the agenda!
