Good Evening from Portland. We are sharing a dorm room for the next 3 nights but it is cool as it has a double bed and is cosy. We got up and took advantage of the free bread and bagels for breakfast then left our room mates and set off for the free bus downtown to the river. We walked along the river and then around Pioneer Square, tried to get free internet at the library but the terminals are always maxed out!!!

With not much on the agenda for the rest of the morning we went to see the new Spiderman movie, which was too lovey dovey and not enough action for us.

We followed this up with a packed lunch that we had made then a visit to the Chinese garden in the heart of the city which was really peaceful and full of interesting plants and complete with a tea room.

By this time it was 5pm so took the free bus up to 21st street for some tea and a drink and have just arrived back at the hostel hoping for a slice of the mighty fine free pizza.

We have the Saturday Market tomorrow it should be cool, at one of the markets you can only sell things that you have made.
