For those of you that are really missing us you will be pleased to know that today is exactly the half way stage and day 183, so only another 183 days to go.

Hello from Kuala Lumpur or KL as it is affectionately known around these parts. We took the 11.30 bus from Malacca and it was just a short 2 hour ride before we hit the bustling metropolis of KL. It was a real change from Malacca as we entered the bus station there were people everywhere. It was a 15 minute walk to the hostel in pretty high temperatures and humidity but we found it OK. The place is pretty standard but will be adequate for our needs.

We freshened up and walked down to the Menara KL it is the 4th tallest building in the world and we can't resist a tall building so we had to go up and see the views. It is 421 metres tall and we got onto the viewing platform where we got an audio tour as well. After about 1 hour up the tower we descended back to ground level and both popped our ears!!!

By this tme it was 6.30pm and we decided to have a couple of drinks before taking ourselves back to the hostel. We are having to stay in KL till at least Wednesday as we are having to get a visa for Thailand as we have discovered that a normal 30 day visa will not suffice!!!

It is hotter and more humid than Malacca but tomorrow we are going to try to get up the Petronas Towers and check out a bit of the city so we will be in touch.
