Well today we farewelled florida and headed to Georgia.
We started early with a pick up airport transfer with our driver Todd. Now the only way to explain Todd is that he must have ADHD and clearly loved the sound of his own voice and drinks way too much coffee. He picked us up at 7.30 and spent the whole drive repeating the same conversation about highlights and travel tips for Florida even though we were leaving. I wanted to cut my own ears off and jam them down his throat.
Thankfully the airport wasn't too far away so we hopped on our flight to Atlanta.
Now the Atlanta airport is the size of Tasmania, well maybe not that big but we got a workout just going to baggage claim. We then picked up our vehicle for the week, a dodge van and we headed to coca cola world. This was quite interesting and everyone enjoyed the displays, 4d show and information and history of how coke was created in Atlanta. The kids really enjoyed the free taste testing of all coke globally made products/flavours, 150 in total. We tried the new Christmas flavour of chocolate cherry cole, yuck. They gave us a souvenir bottle of coke before we left and we headed to our hotel.
I knew when I booked the hotel it was not the ritz, what a hotel it is.
I went to book in and the lady said " you have booked for 3 people, I said that the booking was for 5 and she looked worried as she said it will be tight and cosy. Hmmmmm.....the room is the size of a shoebox so the kids are not allowed off the bed as only one person can walk in the room at a time. We are pretty thankful that it is only one night as we hear every plane roaring over the hotel out of the busy airport. It is going to be a loonnnggggggg night.
We did have an amusing trip to the supermarket though. We seemingly were the only Caucasian people in the whole complex. We got a lot of stares, clearly the area we were in found us amusing. A lot of people watched us picking food items out, we definitely stood out.
