An early start to the day as we are heading to Philly. We boarded out tour bus at 7am and headed out of new york.
Philly is a mixture of history, culture and in some areas filth. Thankfully we mainly stayed in the less filthy areas. We saw the liberty bell and congress hall and the home of George Washington. We learnt a lot about American history and even had a Philly cheese steak....not a good one though.
We then headed to the "rocky steps" ,not as many as I thought but managed to walk up them...Paul and the boys ran up and I presume reinacted the rocky moment. So many photos later we headed back on the bus.
Next we arrived finally to Lancaster county, the home of the Amish.
Buggys and bonnets and beautiful scenery was what we had at intercourse.....yes that is the towns name.
We went on a buggy ride with an Amish farmer and went to his farm. Was it fantastic, yes it was. We were then taken back to the market......yum yums started then.
We tried so many relishes and preserves and of course bacon mayonnaise, I may have bought a jar of that with corn chips to dip into it.
After eating our way around it was time to head back to NY. I could have stayed for a lot longer but will go back next time. The Amish are such kind and peaceful people.
On the way back we watched the movie Amish grace that was a true story about a man that killed Amish school girls in 2006, a very sad movie.
So after such a big day we didn't do much apart from eating baconaise and watching a comedy on tv
