Our flight to Sydney was at 1000 so we had an early start from Gold Coast. The taxi took around 30 mins and check-in was easy. The airport is around the size of ABZ, but even without a boarding pass, you are allowed through security to meet people off flights!
We were slumming it down the back today as it was only a 1hrs flight. This meant no lounge access- unheard of!
After an uneventful flight, we were in a rainy Sydney. We checked in and took a walk down to see the bridge and the opera house. After a wander around we stopped at a Guylian coffee shop for lunch and a lovely dessert. Continuing our walk, we started to see some of the rocks area, but as the rain persisted we headed back to the hotel.
We had a reservation in The Quay tonight as we really fancied it and Mandy's Mum, Richard and Debbie had given us some vouchers for xmas. We also got a lovely surprise on arrival, Mandy and Andrews friend from Aberdeen airport, Fiona, had arranged a $100 voucher for a bottle of wine on arrival! How very generous!!
As you can see from the photos, the meal was beautiful. The restaurant looks right over the quay, and as a cruise ship was in port we had a good look of that, which only increased our excitement over joining our cruise in a couple of days. Walked back to our hotel after the meal and hoping for some better weather tomorrow!
