Day 101 - Koh Phangan
Hurray another day of sun :) We had a bit of a lie in this morning so had some breakfast/dinner and headed out for a spot more sunbathing.
The sun feels a lot hotter today, sweat was pouring off us after lying in it for only a few minutes! It wasnt long before we needed to cool off in the sea, its a bit more waby today so even less visibility where you're walking but thankfully no crabs have attacked us yet! We cooled off and then went to sunbathe again and decided now was a good time to take some pics of where we're staying.
I went to have another dip in the sea and as I was walking out saw a bubble appear in front of me, thinking nothing of it I thought it must have just been a fish or something so was about to carry on walking when I saw it ... a jellyfish! Luckily it was right at the surface or I wouldnt have seen it at all, I ran ot of the water as quickly as I could!
Si called me a wimp for not going back in the sea for the rest of the day but strange that he didn't go in either eh!
We continued sunbathing until the sun began to disappear and then went back to the room for a shower and a lie down before tea (funny how all this lying around tires you out) As we were getting ready we looked out at the sea and the tide had completely gone out so much so that there were people playing football on the sand where people had been swimming this morning about 30 feet out.
For tea we both decided we wanted some Thai food, Si got Pad Thai that he'd had at the last place and really liked and I got a tuna curry. I checked with the guy that it wasn't spicy first and it wasn't too bad, a bit spicier than my usual tikka masala but I managed it without feeling like my mouth was on fire :)
We had a few drinks in the restaurant and then decided it was time to head back to the room, as we were leaving the restaurant we were greeted by Rollie the rottweiler. He really is huge but like the alsatian a big softy, I stroked him trying to keep him away from Si but he wanted to say hello and I just couldn't stop him he must be about twice as heavy than me, kept walking into me and nearly knocking me over and practically headbutted Si in the groin! I kept trying to distract him and get in between him and Si but then Rex got all excited and wanted to join in so came running over to see what was going on.
Both of the dogs walked us right to our bungalow and to make matters worse Rollie then decided to sit on the steps up to the bengalow and have a good scratch, I knew I wouldn't be able to move him so I just stood between him and Si while Si got up the stairs and got the door open. I thought it was really cute that they walked us to our room (Si has different opinions) but they do seem very protective of the people that stay here.
Back in the room and a baby gecko has snuck in :) they seem to be more used to people here as it let me get right up close and take a picture before it left.
