Day 34 - Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise)
Our lovely new flat mates wake us up nice and early (6:45) banging the cupboard doors downstairs etc and neither of us can get back to sleep! Grrr!
We reluctantly get out of bed at this ungodly hour and go downstairs for some breakfast and a nice cup of tea. We let a few hours pass and for it to warm up a bit outside before throwing the bikini on and heading out to the beach again (I could get used to this!)
We lie there for a while trying to soak up the sun before I convince Si we should go and dip our toes in the sea. I brave it in up to my belly but Si is chicken and only goes up to his knees. The waves were quite big and kept splashing up at us and you could feel the under current pulling i'm surprised I stayed on my feet! We head back to the towel to dry off and notice something white on my towel, on further investigation it's a small crab (see the pics) i couldn't move it so Si poked it with a stick and it still wouldn't move we dragged the towel a bit and it scuttled to the side, we decided if the crab wasn't going to move we would have to move a couple inches up however by the time we'd moved the towels and turned round Colin the Crab had vanished into the sand again, he was nowhere to be seen! After being paranoid the crab might return to get us for a while we decided to go and get dinner at the same place as yesterday. Si had chicken satay and I had lamb souvlaki both were gorgeous.
We had another walk around the shops and when heading home to get showered we walked into King Tutt's Putt Putt across the road from the apartment to see how much the mini golf was. I'm staring gormlessly at the notice boards trying to find prices etc when Si says 'is that Peter Andre?' I didn't think he actually meant Peter Andre and continue staring gormlessly around until I heard a familiar voice shout 'Junior' I looked up and Peter Andre was stood in front of us shouting his kids and to my horror there is a massive camera looking straight at us! We made a swift exit away from the camera and headed home to get all the sand and sea water off us before heading back to King Tutt's for a round of mini golf. It made a nice change, we went on the dinosaur course which was medium difficulty (it was hard) and i gave Si a thrashing (1 point on the last hole his bounced out I got a hole in 1
) After this we headed for some homemade burgers and beer to celebrate my victory.
