Day 35 - Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise)/Brisbane
We're woke nice and early again by our lovely noisy flat mates but thankfully this is the last morning we will have to put up with the banging!
After a bit a breakfast we pack up our last bits and check out for our journey to Brisbane. We enquire at reception when checking out which is the best way to get there (we've had no internet so couldn't look it up) and not only do they tell us which bus and train to get they're even kind enough to give us a lift to the bus stop!
We hop on the bus to Narang which takes about 40 mins and then jump on the train to Brisbane. Just over an hour on the train and we arrive in Brisbane and the weather is just as good as it has been at the Gold Coast (shame there isn't a beach I would have had the bikini straight back on!) we arrive at the hostel and dump our bags as we're a bit early for check in and head out for a wander around the city.
We're right in the centre and literally 2 mins out the hostel door and we're in a food court :) we grab some lunch and walk around the mall to try and kill some time before we can check in. Its very similar to Sydney as there seems to be several mall's joined together so its quite easy to get a bit lost (lucky I have The Navigator AKA Si with me). It soon hits 2pm so we head back to the hostel to check in but the queue for checking in was literally out the door, we both had the same idea when we saw the size of the queue and went to the bar next door for a few drinks to kill a bit of time. After our drinks we went back to the hostel and the queue was still massive! At first we stood in line with everyone else and began speaking to a guy a couple of people ahead of us and was told that he'd been there a while and the queue hadn't moved we decided it was time for more drinks, left the queue and headed back about an hour later when it wasn't so bad.
After tea we returned to the hostel and begrudgingly paid for wifi to update the blog/pictures and continue research for the rest of the trip.
