Day 12 - San Diego
Today we're off to the zoo
We arrive about 10:30 so the queues aren't too bad and we're soon wandering around looking at all the animals (lions and tigers and bears oh my!) the sealion show was amazing (i definately want one now) i was just jealous that you're only allowed to join in the show if you're a child not fair!
We walked around and saw all of the usual animals (you can never see too many animals) and they even had a petting zoo (admitidly it was called the childrens zoo) but I still had to go so I dragged Si along and we went in with all the goats and sheep and I went and stroked them all (again I think Si was the only one in there without a child) unfortunately you couldn't get to the horses to stroke them but there were plenty of goats to give your attention to instead. Si said he wanted one of the goats to run at me or something thinking that this would make me stop wanting one but they didn't they just loved all the back rubbing they were getting and now I want one even more!
We got to see koala's which we've never seen before, they were just sat in the tree looking oh so cute now I definately have to hold one when we go to Australia! We saw polar bears for the first time they were playfully swimming around together. The main reason we went to the zoo was to see panda's as again neither of us had seen them before and you actually had to queue just to go and see them in their enclosure! The queue wasn't that bad but i'd hate to see it on a weekend! They have 3 panda's, 2 adults and 1 baby all of which were sleeping HA! They looked so big and fluffy like you could just cuddle them it was definately worth queuing for.
Once we'd seen all of the animals we walked back to the hostel for a much needed sit down and then went to Ghiradelli Ice Cream and Chocolate shop for tea .. we shared a strawberry cheesecake ice cream sunday and it was so scrumptious! Definately couldn't eat a whole one to myself though it was massive!
After topping up our sugar levels we headed home for crisps, beer and bed ready for Sea World tomorrow!

Madelaine Rhona don't go to Sydney zoo then, you can't hold the koalas there. Pretty sure you can at the Steve Irwin zoo though. x
