Day 25 - Downtown Los Angeles
Si seems to be against having a lie in at the moment and wakes me up whilst getting his shower stuff ready (i'm going to start drugging him with sleeping pills). We both get cleaned up and head down to the coffee shop thats joined onto the hotel for breakfast before starting another day of planning for our next leg of the trip.
We have pretty much sorted all of our trip for Australia, where we want to go and how long we will be spending there etc. After getting tired of staring at a computer screen we go for a walk around downtown LA.
Its quite a strange part of the city one block will be completely run down and clearly quite a poor area and the next will be quite posh and upmarket - very weird to see when they are literally across the road from eachother.
We decided to go and see the Walt Disney Concert Hall and were not amused to see that we had to climb 2 big hills to get there (I swear I thought we were back in San Francisco for a moment they were that steep) anyway we make it to the top and the hall is amazing to look at so worth the climb
After the hall we begin to walk back to the hotel through the financial district and there are some impressive skyscrapers all around us one even has a fountain/waterfall on its roof!
For tea we went to a little bar around the corner from the hotel called Coles where they serve (and apparently invented) French Dip. Its a sandwich with your choice of meat filling that comes with a bowl of the juice from when the meat was being cooked for you to dip your sandwich in. It was gorgeous! After 3 weeks of having lots of generic fast food and with everything coming with cheese on it was definately a nice change.
We had a little tipple with tea and then retired to the room to finish packing and get some shut eye as we're leaving america tomorrow for our ridiculously long flight to sydney! EXCITED!!!
