Sunday 24th April After our big day out on the Barrier Reef we decided to have a more lazy day. We booked a coach trip to Port Douglas, about a one hour drive north of Cairns. We left at 10am. It was quite a cloudy day and we spent the first few hours walking around the shops and the Sunday market. Friday 22nd April Today we flew up on the morning flight. We had a shuttle bus to the hotel, the Coral Tree Inn on Gladstone Road. The hotel was basic but clean beds and towels made up for it. The people at reception were lovely and very helpful with any questions we had about our stay in Cairns. Jan and I sorted our things and went out for a walk along the Esplanade.
