We have spent the last six days in Mancora without updating the blog mainly due to the fact that the days have been basically the same and we've loved it!!
Our days have been pretty much spent in the same routine. This has involved getting up and heading down to the beach for a couple of hours to catch some rays. After a tanning session, we have headed into Mancora which is a forty minute walk for some supplies for the rest of the day. After getting back to the house, we have then spent most of the afternoon on the terrace looking out onto the Pacific Ocean before having some tea and a few drinks out on the terrace. This has suited us perfectly after the Inca Trail and then travelling up from Cusco, through Lima, to Mancora. Definitely beats the routine back at home!!
Mancora itself doesn't actually the seem the greatest town and the beach at the town is pretty average. However, as we are in an area called Los Pacitos, we have really enjoyed our time here as the beach is fantastic and very quiet compared to Mancora. It is also about a 1 minute walk and you can hear the waves crashing on the beach all day and night from our house. We have also been able to cook our own food for the week even though the small shops in Mancora only sell very limited ingredients. We have abused the staples of rice, pasta and bread this week.
So tomorrow we go back to Lima which is another 20 hours on the bus. It is now less than 3 weeks until we leave Santiago for New Zealand. There are plenty of kilometres to cover between now and then so we need to get a shift on and this will be our last long stay in South America.
