We made the journey from Kaikoura to Wellington on Saturday. On the way from Kaikoura to the ferry terminal, we stopped at a bit of a seal colony not far from Kaikoura. We managed to see quite a few seals including some baby seals which were just playing on the rocks whilst the sea crashed all around them. So we spent our first ever New Years Eve away from home in the Windy City of Wellington. We all had a really good night and, as you will be able to see from the photos, I was a little bit worse for ware by the end of the night. We had a drink in our room at the hostel before a couple of swift ones in the hostel bar then into town where we went to a few bars. It's been a while since the last blog, mainly due to celebrating Christmas and the eating and drinking associated with it. Christmas Day was spent in Taupo and, although it was hard being away from home, we both had a brilliant day.
