After leaving Taupo, we spent a night in Auckland before we were headed to Paihia which is in the Bay of Islands in the north of New Zealand. We made the journey from Kaikoura to Wellington on Saturday. On the way from Kaikoura to the ferry terminal, we stopped at a bit of a seal colony not far from Kaikoura. We managed to see quite a few seals including some baby seals which were just playing on the rocks whilst the sea crashed all around them. We left Christchurch at around 7.30am on Thursday morning headed for Kaikoura. The journey was only around 4 hours so we were in Kaikoura by about 12 o clock. Our last day in Queenstown was spent at the cricket, much to Beth's joy!!! It was meant to rain for most of the day but luckily when we woke up it was dry so we decided to head up to the cricket for a free day.
