Schloss Neuschwanstein was on our agenda here We thought we would get there early but 10000 others thought the same .The line to buy tickets looked like a 2 hour wait and that was to buy a timed tour tour We chose to take the stiff 40 minute walk up the hill and see what we could . Naturally we could not go inside the castle but were rewarded with a good look at the castle and excellent views of the countryside
Friedrichschafen was our next target. The drive through the rolling farm land was very pleasant. A bit like Tasmania- lots of hops and apples growing. Stopped at a house where there was a sign that we interpreted as saying "apples for sale." Must have been right because we came away with a couple of kiligrams of beautiful new season ones. Friedrichcshafen is a city on the shores of Lake Constance and one of Europe's biggest lakes Its shores touch 3 countries The esplande was a delightful area where we hired a pedal boat and paddled around the harbour . We managed a table right on the sea(lake) wall and had fish, chips and calamari as you do at the beach
Our hotel is a few km out of town (Tettnang)and a walk an a icecream completed a great day

Jenny Hi. No more pick pockets I hope. Karen's dad's funeral on Friday morning at Elizabeth. John and Bill going. Some of the photos you have posted reminded me of some of Mum and Dad's when they went to Europe. Some things never change!!!
