Our holiday in August 2024 was to Majorca for the second year running but to a different part of the island. We stayed at the Zafiro Can Picafort. We travelled on a Wednesday and we went to a family section of BA at Heathrow and the kids were given a little goodie bag with eye masks, socks and crayons etc in it. We went through security and thought we struck lucky when we got entered into a shorter queue but the woman was being really strict about the kids water and I had to drink one bottle as she was saying we had to chuck the bottles out. We've never had issues with water in all the years of traveling with children. We headed to Pret and picked up some croissants and sandwiches for the plane and headed to the soft-play area which was good to let the kids loose. We then headed for the gate and it was packed and the plane didn't leave for an hour and a half as people were stuck on the plane as there wasn't enough buses to take them back to the airport. Whilst we were waiting we met little Henry, a Spanish boy who was younger than our two. He liked to try talk to the boys and they tried to converse with him looking at the planes. We got on the plane and I had the trip with Emily and she fell asleep for 40 mins and then had lunch which consisted of pouches and snacks I had brought. The flight was around 1.50 long so they made up some time. When the guy picked us up there was no baby seat and he had no offers to sort anything so I was really annoyed about it. Majorca is terrible for car seats for children as we had similar issues the year before. We had a little doze in the cab as it was a good 50 mins trip as it had been an early start. We went to the hotel and went to the room, unpacked and went to the pools. There was a large pirate pool with slides coming off of it and some smaller slides situated around the kids pool. There was a few bigger pools in the complex, some rooms had 'swim up' pools and a bouncy big ball in one pool. There was a pool which had lovely lounge beds in as well. We then went for dinner and it was chips for Alex and ice cream. Rich took the little two to bed and I took Thomas out for the entertainment and kids disco at 8 and I tried a passion mango mojito.
On Thursday Emily stirred as she was sharing a room with me and Rich and the boys had a sofa bed in the living room. Thomas had wet the bed but they had slept until 8 but it was an hour ahead time wise. We went for breakfast and Alex had weetabix, Emily porridge sausages and ham and Thomas tried waffles. We went to the pools and the bubble pool and kids slide. Emily tried the slides and was very brave. The pool was shallow enough but obviously we had to follow Emily everywhere. The boys could manage it all easily. Beside the kids pool there was a massive bigger slide that you could go together on a float and it went up a high wall on the other side and then you floated down to the end. For lunch the kids had chicken nuggets and chips, I had chicken kebab and Rich had a club sandwich at the bar rather then the buffet. Rich took Emily back for a nap and we ordered some sundaes but it took a while. After the sundaes me and the boys went to the bubble pool and what became known as 'new pool' which was a swim up pool near the kids pool which was about 1.20 metres. They enjoyed swimming and jumping as Thomas could just about touch the bottom but all had floats on. There was a 1.5 metre pool near by. We tried a milkshake and slushy from the snack pool. Alex was walking around saying 'evacuate' thinking it was hilarious. We spent all day in the various pools but the downside was both boys were red on their face and arms so after that we decided we should keep them out of the sun for a few hours after lunch. A bit later on Alex poo'd himself a little bit just as we were going to head back luckily. Later we all headed to the kids disco but the music was really bad and lots of talking by the hosts. There were lots of comfortable chairs and sofas with table service to watch.
On Friday, we went for breakfast and headed for the play ground which had a climbing frame, bouncy castle and trampoline and was by the kids pool. There was also some kids clubs rooms near there as well. After we headed for the pools, the temperatures were around early 30's. We spent a lot of time following Emily and the boys around. Rich went on the big slide with Thomas. We had our lunch at the bar and had ice cream from the freezer. I took Emily back to the room for her nap and watched Scream Queens which I had recently started. After Emily woke we went back to the pool and play ground. Emily was cranky and slipped under the water twice. She came off the slide and fell forward so got some mouthfuls of water but otherwise ok. For dinner it was a mix of crisps, salmon, cream cheese, lamb, turkey, sausage and red velvet cake. After dinner the boys went on the trampoline where you strap in and go really high, but Alex didn't like to go high but slowly got braver. Thomas was loving it and going really high. They then played Superman song at the disco, we headed to the play ground then I took Alex back for bed. Me and Thomas headed for the private deep pool and chilled on the beds. There were electric motors dressed up as angry birds, dogs etc and I was talking to the woman enquiring and she let Thomas have a go for free as I had no money with me.
On Saturday for breakfast, Emily had no porridge but sausage and weetabix. We went to the pools, new pool then waterfall then to the bubble. I spotted hidden behind lots of sun beds a tiny little round pool with a boy who had lots of toys and figurines so I got the boys and Emily and they joined in. The boy kindly shared his toys. After a bit we went and got changed and went to the park and had lunch. It was another long time waiting for the sundae. After lunch, me and the boys went to the shop and got Emily some little squid water toys and both the boys chose a transformers but after a while they fought over them. Alex wanted Thomas's one. Later on, it was Chinese theme night at the restaurant of sushi and dumplings. We went to the arcade area near the park and small pool and the kids went on the horse ride. There was a lolly pop machine Alex wanted to use. There were also grabber machines but hard to get anything. I took Alex and Emily to bed but Emily was wired. We got some water bottles on the way to the room.
On Sunday we were awake at 7.30, had breakfast then went for a walk to the beach 10 mins away. There was a random sorry looking park on the way to the beach and some shops. We went for a splash in the sea which was nice but when we got ready to leave there was a little glass near the end of boardwalk. We went back to the hotel through the random park. Me and Alex stopped for a quick play but it was half broken so was a quick stop. We went back into pool and the small toy pool and we lost a red water rocket. We did the bouncy pool and had a slush puppy. We then went for lunch and I tried a chicken Caesar salad. We then went back to the main restaurant and had ice cream at the buffet. Emily had her nap and I sunbathed on the balcony. When she woke, we went back to the small pool then new pool then deep pool then back to small pool. We did our steps on this holiday. Emily kept climbing to the top of the pirate ship where there was a slide down but she was too small to do. For dinner it was small chicken nuggets and apple crumble for dessert. The kids went on the horses again. When Rich, took the kids to bed me and Thomas went to the bar then the luxury swimming pool and chilled on the beds for a bit. We then watched a little show and headed for bed. I could feel something in bed and when I pulled back the cover, it was a bug, yuck. Scared the crap out of me.
On Monday we went breakfast and had croissants, ham and cheese and did the usual loop of pools. Went to little pool, when we came back to the kids pool..it was shut as there was a poo in pool and they got it out and it was put on the side. So gross. For lunch, we went to the buffet lunch and had burgers and small chicken nuggets which everyone enjoyed. We went to the shop then back to the pool. The boys enjoyed jumping In all the swim up pools as we walked around the complex. They jumped in the ring and over the noodle. Rich came back and I went on the big slide but it felt like it gave me whiplash as i hurt my neck from the force and my bum. Emily and Alex did the dance show for Izzy the mascots birthday and they enjoyed it and had a dance. They also did a bubble show that night.
Tuesday morning and Emily had a bottle at 6 and awake for the day around 7.30. We had our usual day running around the pools, watching the kids. Later that night the boys went on the electric bikes an angry bird and dog car whilst Richard took Emily back to the room. I took Alex back then went back out with Thomas to the bar. There was an acrobats show which we watched for a bit.
Wednesday, we were awake around 8. We went by the the pools until 12.30 then it went dark and rained so we brought stuff back to room. Around 3 it stopped and we went back out. We headed for the indoor pool like most the hotel and did a gym tour. Rich stayed with the boys at the indoor pool for a bit then went back outdoors when it stopped raining. We gave the two floats to a family with two boys we had seen most the week, as we had been kindly passed them (a ring and a pull along boat). Later that night we got ready to go to the fancy A la carte restaurant. You only got to go once. We ordered peppers, prawns and potatoes bravas for starters which were delicious. I ordered a fillet steak and Rich had a mixed grill. The kids had chicken nuggets and chips. For dessert we had a nutella crepe. It was a yummy dinner to end our last night on holiday. We took the boys back on the big trampolines and I took Emily for a walk. I got water and mini club was indoors as still looked stormy. I took Alex and Emily to bed, asleep fairly early around 9.20 than Rich and Thomas came back.
Thursday was our day to head home and after the rain in the night, it was good timing. Emily was awake 4.30 and had a bottle at 5.30. Had breakfast and packed up our last bits. We were in a little van and there was bad flooding driving back, the driver seemed to take us the rural way. When we got to the airport, we were hit with a delay of 4 hours (like what's the luck, we always seem to have delays) Then it was 2.30 hours. We found a little play area with a climbing frame and a little bridge. We then went for a Mc D and there were rude people pushing in front. We then headed to gate A. Thankfully, we got away just as more rain was coming down. 2.30 hours later we were home, kids had a quick bath, toast and bed. It was time to unpack the essentials and load up the washing machine. Back to reality.
