So yesterday morning we went White water rafting. The river was mostly a grade 3 - 4 but there is one waterfall that is a grade 5 as it's the biggest commercially raft-able waterfall in the world at 7m. All I have to say is that I loved it!!! It was so fun and I may have found a new calling in life :) I didn't fall out but got completely soaked. Our leaders were good craic too, trying to get us soaked. We even did a rapid in the water holding onto the boat. After we went to look at some hot mud lakes, like the picture above, where the water/mud is bubbling. Rotorua smells so bad of sulphur because there are so many geysers. We then went to some hot springs in a forest where we rested for about an hour in the hot water, it was so nice but at times it did get really hot! After this we went to Taupo. The weather wasn't great so we couldn't do a sky dive. The lake is beautiful though even though it was foggy and cloudy. We went out last night and weren't back till quite late. Clare and I broke our attempt at a week detox off alcohol, well we made 4 days which isn't bad when travelling. Today we got up early and have travelled to one of the most remote areas in new Zealand as you can see on the map. It's a cattle and sheep farm where they are also doing conservation. The options for activities were a bit expensive so a few of us decided to just do one of the free walks. We did a walk up a mountain which was no walk! Try army style climbing and hiking!! You have to walk along the top with shear drops either side of you, climb up rocks and areas with ropes it's so steep!! They views were unbelievable though. We could see for miles and it was so beautiful. I dot think I can really describe or that the pictures give justice. Tonight we are going to bed early as we have an early start to go and do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing walk which will take us about 6 - 7 hours. The weather has been cloudy so hopefully it will clear and we will get great views of the mountains!

Aunty Maura Just arrived in Lisburn this afternoon and your mum told me there was a new blog installment. Actually that makes me think that your blogs are like a serial soap opera!! You could call it "Away and Away". Get it! I really enjoyed reading it. So happy for you that you are having such a good time. Love. Aunty Maura.
