So I clearly haven't updated in well about a week! After getting an early nights sleep in Hue we were up early for a briefing ride throughout the countryside, it was class. We stopped at markets, saw conical hats and incense being made, emperors tombs and a farming museum with this hilarious host! She was in her 70s and climbing on farming equipment while cracking jokes! After the motorbike tour we were straight to the train at about one during the day to get our overnight train to Hanoi. It was such a long journey but wine, cards and music got us through! We arrive in Hanoi at about 6 in the morning and it was freezing!!!! We had another 3 hour bus journey to Halong Bay. When we arrived at our hotel it was interesting to find that they don't have electricity between 7am and 5pm! We got breakfast had a 2 hour nap and headed out on our Junk boat into the bay. We started off with an amazing lunch then explored some massive limestone caves. After we went kayaking through caves and into lagoons, it was so amazing and beautiful. Back to the hotel clare and I had a little candle party in our room and one by one everyone joined us. It was really good Craic. We got tea from the restaurant and some people started giving out some riddles... Random but class Craic. Later we headed out for dinner, ended up in a dodgy place, it was quite funny. Back to the hotel with loads of crap ie. Chocolate and biscuits, they gave us free drinks as the electricity had only just come back on. The next morning we headed back to Hanoi, our last destination :( we just walked about that day, exploring the city. That night it was one of the girls birthdays so we all got dressed up and went to a really nice restaurant. The food was amazing! We then headed to pub where we had cake and chocolate then on to a really good club. The next day we were up for a tour to Ho Chi Minhs mausoleum and home. We then went to the fine arts museum and dandling about town. It was our last night tonight! We headed out for dinner then back to the hotel to say goodbye to those continuing with the tour into Laos. It was so sad because we spent all day together for the last 20 days and had gotten to know each other really well. We slept in the next day to recover and checked out. There were 6 of us who left and we all checked into our hostel together. That day we again dandered about then went to the cinema to see 'no strings attached' which was really funny. The next day we were all up early to go to the airport for early flights. We got our flight to Hanoi then everyone split off in their different directions, again we had to say goodbye. Clare and I got our flight to Sydney and checked into our hostel early yesterday morning. All day yesterday we were kind of in a daze due to jet lag. We got our bank stuff sorted, food for the next few days and last night had the longest sleep to recover! Today we are refreshed and ready to explore Sydney.
