Monday 5th June
Headed off to Mundrabilla Roadhouse, but it was very eerie and the most deserted roadhouse we have come across on the Nullarbor.
Unfortunately diarrhoea started, so we decided to drive the extra 60km to Eucla which had much better amenities.
We both had a dreadful night - I was gastric and vomiting all night, and I felt sorry for Kev having to deal with me in this situation. I couldn't keep anything down at all. A most unpleasant night to say the least!
Tuesday 6th June
I finally fell asleep and slept most of the morning. We stayed another night in Eucla as I was too sick to travel so we decided to move to the motel at the same caravan park. Receptionist told Kev that there was a Nurse's Station about 100m down the road.
We headed off there and were amazed at the very professional service and equipment available here. There were three triage stations which looked to be very well equipped to handle any emergency. The nurse took my vital signs, rang the RFDS who advised a saline drip, as I was very dehydrated.
It was a miraculous recovery half way through the saline drip. We were sent back to the motel with gastrolite, pills for the vomiting and back to bed. Kev potted around the van and went to the restaurant for dinner. We watched TV and slept like babies.
