Hello! I am on Mykonos Island right now - and it is beautiful! I arrived yesterday afternoon after a 6 hour ferry ride from Athens. The island is just like the pictures I've always seen...clear blue water, white beaches, and white stone buildings...amazing here! I spent yesterday unpacking my stuff in MY OWN ROOM! There are lots of little budget hotels here...hotels meaning lots of little cotteges made of white stone, with balconies looking over the hill onto the ocean and beach. So, I have my own room, with tv, mini fridge to keep my sandwich-making supplies in, shower, toilet, fresh towels, and a balcony that overlooks someone's backyard...but it's a beautiful backyard - and I can look up the hill too....I'm pretty must adoring it here! The sun is out all day - no clouds - nice waves - and clean beaches! It's a bit touristy and more expensive that the other places I've stayed, but overall this is my favorite location so far! Today I beached, had a sandwich/apple/ice cream on my towel, beached, and now I'm ready for dinner. Oh! last night I went to a restaurant by my hotel (which is on the Northern part of the island - the less populated part - calmer - quieter - nice!). I sat out on the patio over lookin the sea and had jumbo shrimp (still with their heads on, etc!), and a greek beer. I wish you all could be here to see this ... we could all play beach volleyball!
