A lovely sunny day in Santa Barbara. This must be the ideal climate. The end of October and it's 72C. It is an idyllic town. Very Mexican/Spanish.
Visited the Courthouse. Much of Santa Barbara was destroyed by an earthquake in 1925. The Courthouse was rebuilt in a Mediterranean style. This Spanish/Moorish building was designed by William Mooser. It is a charming irregular building, full of colour, windows of many shapes, lacy iron grillwork and tiny balconies. The murals on the walls of the assembly room tell the story of the founding of the city (though somewhat inaccurately). Peter Pan even appears hiding in one of the paintings and many of the characters resemble movie stars of the time.
The Courthouse is still used each day for trials and civic business.

Graham and Jenny Glad to see you are now in the warmth after your snowy spell which looked beautiful but you can' beat the sun ! Rainy and windy here! Santa Barbara looks lovely and the Architecture and decor is stunning. Take care.
Tricia Much better weather for you. Santa Barbara looks a good place to visit and explore, lots of interesting places and I presume people. It is foul here today, cold and very wet! Enjoy
