Africa!!! woohoooo .. it is amazing !!! have only been here 5 days and it feels like a lifetime.. (in a good sense) Arrived into nairobi late on friday night and had a transfer organised with a chap called smiley.. it true african style.. he lived up to his name 100%.. and was a nice reminder that life is always worth smiling about.. chatted and swapped life stories (including laughs) the 40min drive over to my campsite... spent the eveing having a few cold ones (cause damn it is hot !!) with a couple of kenyans.. what a better way to start.. Didnt spend much time looking around nairobi to be honest... but did get to go out and expereince some of the local way of living .. can see why there are so many ex-pats over here.. African time .. is the key essential where 5 mins translates to around 20mins and the phrase 'no worries' has never been so true.. sure we are talking high fences and 24hr security round your home .. but reckon i could deal!

I met my tour group and most importantly our truck ... what a beast of a thing it is.. side long seats and roll up canvas windows .. yep i m on an overland safari!! there are about 12 of us in the group and as always there are some characters but on a whole the crew is wicked .. flash back of driving into tanzania .. Mt Kilomanjaro in the background and everyone dancing in the back of the truck with party hats and way too much vodka in hand .. an impromtu bday party for on the girls in the group .. this continued for the rest of the 3hr journey into arusha and way into the night at our campsite.. what an initiation .. as they say alcohol can be the best social lubriactor .. !!!

Had a chance to wander through the streets of Arusha yesterday.. which i would say defines an african city pretty well.. Busy, hot and all the colours of the rainbow!!! have met 2 uk lads from Preston on the tour which if i am totally honest i would not have been too happy walking around town without them.. nice to have that bit extra security!! To sum up having a fantastic time !!! .. right internet too slow to upload photos here so they will follow !!
