After a uk winter-fill of rain and coldness... i decided to take action and do what only a true brit would do in my case... plan a european mid winter summer break... Well to be honest i threw the idea out to Josie who intrue best budd form planned a fantastic week holiday away to the Canary Island ... Tenerife Baby!! The island was a british haven filled with very few spanish and loads of english even though it was off-season.. we spend the week soaking up the sun, bronzing the tan back and party til the sun came up again (allowing us to continue with the bronzing) my first holiday experience that did not include sight-seeing ... that is if you dont inlcude the incrediabley good looking bar tenders!!
By the time i got back to the uk .. it was a few months of work in essex.. home to cardi-club.. and then it was time to plan christmas (yes again!) no questions asked it was denmark for sure and this time i had the added bonus of having my brother join the party.. we spend our time embracing the danish traditions.. dancing round the christmas tree, family/friends and eating/drinking way to much!! how i love the ways danes do christmas!!!
Decided to shake things up this year for New Years and yet another tick off my life to-do list.. Hogmany .. a Scottish New Years in Edinburgh... each year they put on a huge street festival and have the most amazing fireworks off the castle at midnight (see video attached) I've been to edinburgh before but not like this.. well it was winter for a start and only the crazy scotts could come up with a 4 days outdoor festival and street party to celebrate new years... yes OUTDOORS.. how i love the person who invented thermals and layered clothing!! although this did turn out to be a bit of a problem when heading out clubbin at the end of night ... felt like i was draggin my wardrobe with me! Beside the street festival on new years itself, on another night i found myself being dragged off in a which hunt that included huge wax lite candle and a hike up to carlton hill to lite a bonfire and watch some more fireworks which sad to say brought wellington's guy fawlks celebrations to shame!!
The whole new years experience was nothing short of fantastic and something that will not be easily beaten soon .. well recommended for anyone over that way!! Now back to work and i am sensing some more travel planning ahead... where to next .. hmmm ???
Lots of love to all !!
