After a big brekky we headed out of Torquay. It was thundering and lightening all night but not too bad in morning. We made it Appollo Bay for coffee with just light sprinkles....then as we were getting out of the car for coffee the storm hit....never above 9 degrees all day...gale force winds and pounding rain....needless to say the drive between Appollo Bay and. Today was a relaxing day....big breakfast comes with our stay so we pigged out on brekky today....then I went for an hours walk along beachfront..then we went to surf beach and watched the literally hundreds of people...families, oldies and youngies...surfing...neat to see! We did a tour of down town, stopped for a drink and a snack, and relaxed a while...I went for a swim in the Olympic pool here..great pool and gym....big thunderstorm this afternoon so our golf...

Well weather is supposed to turn sour for our trip to Adelaide via great ocean road so decided to explore it todAy as it is a beautiful sunny and warm day.....drove to Loren with many stops along way and ate lunch there...very crowded...not many towns along route and those there is are very crowded....decided to drive on to Appollo Bay and then to Cape Otway Lighthouse...a long way but well worth it....full of eucalyptus trees and we saw lots of koalas in the wil...

Lots of time so after breakfast I tried the rooftop pool at the hotel...although cold getting out it was heated to 30 degrees...very nice and great way to relax before driving. I studied the map as I don't trust tom tom and found the easiest way out of town...it worked perfect and we were on the M1 in no time! Lovely day in Melbourne. Warm and sunny. I am a Sydney girl bu am starting to see the upside of Melbourne. Took Fred to euporium to buy sandals at Ecco. That place blows my mind. So huge. Then did Yarra river cruise both ends. Lovely and relaxing and a great way to get to know the city. Then had lunch at Southbank at a German restaurant and topped off the day looking down from 88th floor at eureka building. Awesome views on a lovely clear day. Just had a snack in...
