We got to surfers paradise with no plans on where to stay so we just headed for the middle to find somewhere to stop over for the night. We had heard that surfers paradise wasn't that great so that why we didn't want to spend to much time there and just wanted to check it out. As we approached you could see what people had said to us and how its very different to the name. The beach was ok, nothing special and it was just another city like others we had seen, not what we wanted really so we were glad to only be staying for a night.

We didn't let it bother us and decided we would just had a mad night out as we hadn't had one ina while. We found a cool little hostel to stay and made some friends straight away. We found there was a bar crawl going on that night which we got involved with straight away. We shot out quick to grab some food (beans on toast) and on our journeys incounted a strange site. We were standing outside a tobacco shop that watching a man who was ridiculously drunk, he must have been about 60. He was trying to buy ciggys and it just so happened that on the front of this shop was a breathalyser that the public could use. We managed to convince the man to use it just see how bad he was and after watching him trying to smoke the straw you put into the machine and blowing through the straw without putting into the machine he finally got it correct and gave a score of 1.5, bearing in mind the legal limit for driving is 0.15 he proceeded to walk towards a car parked on the side of the pavement. We thought there was no way he could possibly own that car but he got into the drivers seat and started the engine, this guy was totally wasted, we could see something bad was going to happen so we told people to get out the way and before we had a chance to actually get him back out the car he had driven off, what a complete ass! Im pretty sure he got stopped by the end of the road though!

After that bit of entertainment we went back, had dinner and headed out on the bar crawl. It was a pretty funny night, me and kel were pretty close now and we all had a wicked time. No denying it was a messy one but great fun. The next morning i dropped th car back to Avis and we caught the greyhound to our next stop, Byron bay!
