Waking up in Helsinki we headed to the ferry soon to discover it was coming to the weekend and loads of drunk up Fins were heading to estonia for the weekend. When i mean drunk i mean walking zombies incapableof speech!
We eneded up on in the buffet on the ferry only to find that alcohol was on the buffet as well, i think that explains a few things. So we ended up lining our stomachs and having a few beers ready for the night out in Tallin.
Getting off the train we headed to the old medieval part of town. We arrived at the Hostel and were greeted by our contact in russia natasha and also beer! As a hostel goes i would describe this one as a wild party Hostel to say the least, we dropped our bags and started playing beer pong.
Strangely we were sharing our dorm with a group of americans we met in Stockholm, all very nice guys!
Everynight at eleven every day the hostel does bar crawls all over tallin so we thought it rude not to go, as an explanation of that night look at the photos, but we did have a strange new drink called a cocaine shot (no cocaine used only absinthe)
The next day we woke up with slight sore heads but wouldnt let that hold us back so headed off sight seeing.
At this point i would like to say anyone who has got a long weekend planned and is not sure where to go head to, Tallin it is bloody lovely!
That day we ate pasties in an old medieval tavarn in the oldest medieval town hall in europe, that about sums tallin up. Have a look at the pics
That night we headed out to do it all again!
Over the weekend in Tallin natasha (our russian contact) was amazing looking after us and making us drink aswell, so we new we were in safe hands. The next stop was St Petersburg and we were getting the bus back with Natasha so felt more comfortable crossing the brder with someone who could speak russian!
That evening we got a taxi from the Hostel to the bus station, stuck our gear on and headed ver night to russia for a carzy trans siberian adventure from west to east.
