We were threatened that the journey to luang prabang would be bad for windy roads so I handed round the travel sickness tablets. Had a van full of sleeping people the whole way. I love these tablets!
Saw a lorry that had fallen down a cliff, they'd been trying to get it up for 3 days. We saw one more failed attempt, scary.
We've got a huuuuuge room in the hotel. Both have king sized beds too which is a bit of a luxury. The town looks so nice, went for dinner in a gorgeous tree house style restaurant. I'd recommend Laos as a holiday destination the most of all the countries so far.
Day 2 and we woke up at 5am to offer food to the monks... Why?!
It was an interesting but surreal experience, we all had to line up on the street and put rice in their baskets as they passed.
Later on we went to a local waterfall, amazing. The water was ice cold but beautiful to swim in. Even braved jumping off the fall into the pool. Yet another one of those pinch-yourself moments on this trip.
