Tuesday 13th December - After a short flight from Cairns to Brisbane we received a very warm welcome from family friends Dawn and Chris. They drove us back to their home in Noosa Outlook (really lovely) and we met up with Tom and Emily (sorry to wake you both) and a few glasses of wine. We spent today looking around the town, having a cup of tea on the waters edge. Noosa is probably one of the most beautiful beach destinations we have seen so far. We then went to the local pool pit to let Dan release some sporting energy. Dawn and Chris go to a local pub quiz, which we partook (much better than the rubbish quizzes you get back home), unfortunately we were unsuccessful in our efforts but it's the taking part that counts. Wednesday 14th December - Dan and I went for a walk in the Noosa National Park. However, it was one of the hottest days and we chose the longest walk! It was really great though, firstly, a beach walk and then back through the rainforest. We had a wonderful Tapas meal in town and a quick walk on the waters edge. Thursday 15th December - The best day so far, yes that's right we went to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo! Tom, Emily, Jack, Dan and myself fought with crocs and wrestled poisonous snakes. Not really but it is a great zoo with loads of stuff to do. No Steve if you're wondering. Chris made his famous battered king prawns (I'm still dreaming about them now) and we had barramundi! While the men played pool, Dawn and I finished a bottle of wine! Ahhhhh! Friday 16th December - Time to hit the road. We spent the morning packing and searching the internet for a place to stay in Brisbane. We then had a quick smoothie in Noosa and after lunch hit the road for Brisbane. I would just like to thank Dawn, Chris, Tom and Emily for doing washing, feeding us, driving us, lending a bedroom and making us feel very welcome in their home. We had a really lovely time with you and really didn't want to leave have a great Christmas!! Once in Brisbane we had a walk into town and then a quick drink in the hostel bar.
