Sunday 18th December - Having a few problems with accommodation since it is so close to Christmas. When we arrived at Surfers we were limited with places to stay, as a result we spend one night in a hostel tonight and tomorrow go elsewhere. Spent the day on the beach and on the internet since we hadn't booked anywhere to stay for Christmas! Whoops! All sorted now though! We then went into town and had a meal and a few drinks. Saturday 17th December - Spent the day shopping in Queens Street but only bought things I could either wear or carry and since I can barely carry my backpack. We went to Brisbane's huge transit center and got a bargain on a bus ticket (jump on jump off!) from Brisbane to Sydney. We leave today for Surfers Paradise.

Tuesday 13th December - After a short flight from Cairns to Brisbane we received a very warm welcome from family friends Dawn and Chris. They drove us back to their home in Noosa Outlook (really lovely) and we met up with Tom and Emily (sorry to wake you both) and a few glasses of wine. Monday 6th December - Arrive in Cairns early and find some cheap accommodation. However, when we walk into our room at 'Leo's' shocked was not the word! It was horrible! Anyway explored the City (not much of it) and had a a stiff drink and went to bed - sleeping on my backback because the place was filthy!
