I met a really nice group of people here and the hostel (Hostel suites Obelisco) is great! Its all so well set up for travelling here with all the hostels having notice boards with trips and events going on. People had told me how easy it was to travel around here but now I know what they mean!
I had a day of sight seeing to day. I went to Recoleta cemetry where Evita Peron is buried. She was revolutionary character abit like Diana and was highly respected by the people. The cemetry itself is pretty amazing with each family having its own crypt where their coffins are. They are so ornate and really relect the wealth of some families. We then went to San Telmo which is another area of BA full of antique shops! It has a square abit like covent garden where I had my first empanada = a kind of meat pasty which was very good and popular here! We then went to Playa de Mayo where the parlimentary buildings are. And finished up at cafe Tortini which is a bit like Bettys tea rooms in its popularity but its the oldest cafe in the country in existance for 150 years! The waitors all wear tuxes and the decor is amazing!
Tonight we are going to check out La Cabrera which is meant to be a great restuarant so im hoping to sample a famous argentinian steak, oh and some red wine :-)
