Place: Halong Bay
Weather: Sunny
Woke up today feeling all refreshed after a lot of sleep. We had breakfast and then had to get on a small boat that took us to the Castaway Island we were stopping on for the next night. It was a bumpy journey so it didn't help the people who were feeling a bit rough from the night before.
On our way we passed a few floating villages where people lived who had never been on land. The beach we were stopping on looked awesome when we were coming up to it. It was really secluded right in the heart of Halong Bay. When we got closer the beach didn't look as nice and the water was a bit dirty but it was still awesome. We had beds in little shacks which just had roofs and mattresses on a little platform.
The day was filled with being lazy, playing giant jenga which was really stressful and then tubing!! We went out on their speedboat and had goes on these flying fish type things. It was hard enough getting up onto them and in the end we had to be pulled on from the other side by the instructor. There were two of us on each so when we were getting pulled along by the speed boat we would slide into each other. When the speed boat got faster you had to hold on so tight because they were so slippy! Then when you saw the dip made from the waves of the boat you knew you were about to go down it and that's when it got interesting. And scary!
My first fall off was nice and simple and I literally just rolled off the side. The rest of them were more hardcore though and most of the time the whole float flipped right over. At one point I skimmed across the water and my bikini bottoms came down to my knees and them I flipped upside down and went into the water head first with my legs sticking in the air. I just hoped I was nicely hidden by the waves otherwise everything would have been on show.
That night was the night for the famous Castaway Island drinking games. The guys had put all the tables together so we could sit around them in a big square. They then stood on the table in the middle and shouted out orders. They were like teachers! We played a game that we had played with the dutch guys and then we played a game called paranoia where someone whispered you a question like 'who do you think would have done something'. Then they would have to go and sit on the persons lap that they think would have and if the person wanted to know the question they would have to down the rest of their drink. Well apparently someone thought I was the mostly likely to get naked that night! Don't know where they got that from.
When we had finished the game and some of the guys had a mini game of rugby we all went for a night swim so that we could see the phosphorescent. It was awesome. When you swim through it all of the water sparkles around you. We got on a little wooden boat and were jumping off into it. After getting out of the water and drying off a bit I went to bed.

Gran A fun day, apart from losing your bikini bottom perhaps. But you seem to take it all in your stride!
