Date: 25th June 2011
Place: Hanoi
Weather: Raining
Well our 14 hour bus journey turned into a 17 hour one. Because of the rain I think the roads had flooded or something which meant the bus had to stop for a while. When we finally got to Hanoi we weren't dropped off in the centre either because their time period had gone so we had to get a taxi into the centre.
We got to the hotel fairly easily and since we had already booked a room it was all straight forward for once. It wasn't quite ready for us when we got there but we had some free breakfast and chilled out in the upstairs lounge with the Hangover 2 on (again! I thought I wouldn't be able to see it until I got back) and The Kings Speech.
After we had got our stuff sorted in our room, had a bit of a wash and settled in we went to see if we could both get our cameras fixed. Mine has too much sand in it from the beach parties on Koh Phangan and Carm dropped hers so the screen is completely blank. We managed to find a guy who would do mine for about £15 and Carms for about £20 so not too bad. Im so excited to have a camera again after 2 months of nothing!
I then had the normal afternoon nap which seems to be becoming a habit. It was nice though I definitely needed it! I then had a shower before the mad rush happens because it is a communal bathroom in this hostel. We decided to have food early and then go to the hostel bar for drinks because it was happy hour so everyone would be down there.
We met a few people there, a guy from essex and a group of girls from Ireland who were loving all the advice I was dishing out. Then they wouldn't believe me that I am 19! Carm managed to get us free beers from the bar because someone let us know that if we asked they would sort us out! That was just before the hostel bar closed so we all head to Hair of the Dog.
After seeing the prices though I went with Kristie to get some noodles at Green Gecko because I was sooo hungry! We did try to get some street food on the way but they wouldn't accept my money for some reason. After devouring my noodles and heading back to the hostel I crashed out almost instantly.

Gran TWO MONTHS without a camera...unthinkable!! An afternoon nap sounds a VG idea.
