Place: Singapore
Weather: really hot and sunny
As the guys were going to work early we had to make sure we were out of the apartment by 8am. It worked well for us though because we wanted a full day as we had decided to go to Universal Studios on Sentosa Island.
The train down there was packed because it was rush hour but it was still no where near as bad as London and was actually air conned. When we got to Sentosa Island we went too many stops down the line and had to go back on ourselves but it was good because we saw what else we could do on the island whilst we were there.
The park wasn't quite open when we got there but it gave us time to have some pictures taken with the big globe. We got discount for one because we were paying by card which was awesome. When we got let in it was really empty and we got straight onto loads of rides. The first one was a Madagascar ride on a little boat basically going around the story of the film.
I was going around all excited all day. We went into Far Far Away where we went on a Shrek roller coaster and 4D cinema which was awesome. There was also an interactive show with donkey where he was in a sort of band and spoke with the audience.
The next land was Jurassic Park where we first went on the water rapids which were really similar to the one in Florida so when we got to the end before we went down the drop I was expecting a huge one like Florida but obviously America always does everything bigger and better! There was also a little roller coaster thing in Jurassic Park but it was more relaxing than anything.
Next up was The Mummy. We went on what we found out later was a kids ride. It was basically a little tour on cars on a track. Luckily we got to skip loads of the queue because they needed a two to fill a car and nobody in front of us either listened or wasn't in just a two. The Mummy roller coaster was after this and I knew it was going to be good because I loved the one in Florida. It was awesome and went backwards and through loads of fire shooting up at the sides of us.
The last section with rides was Sci Fi city which had two roller coasters right next to each other which were amazing! They both go at the same time so twist amongst each other and at the beginning they are a bit like rita and shoot you really fast but it goes us and straight over to go down again. They actually hurt my stomach because of the g force!
We turned up in New York after leaving Sci Fi City. Universal Studios do such good stage set ups and it was awesome to walk through all the city and you could even smell bakeries and things. We went into a Steven Spielberg presented show which showed us how they made a sound stage into a scene in a movie. It is like the one in Florida again and they made a hurricane scene. It was staged in an old boat house in New York City and was really impressive and seemed so real (as much as I can imagine it would do anyway).
We left the Universal Studios at 2pm after getting there at 10am! That's how empty it was and how little we had to queue. Outside of the park was a whole store dedicated to Hershey's which is like Carms favourite chocolate and shockingly I have never tried it. I really wanted to try the Hershey's kisses because they have peanut butter in and I LOVE peanut butter. I bought a bag of m&m style ones, a bar with caramel in as well and the Reeses cups. I ate them whilst we were walking around looking at the Hard Rock Hotel and I literally stopped after trying my first bite. I cant believe I have missed 19 years of eating these!
We decided to go and see the indoor sky diving centre and considered doing it since it was only like £30. We watched a family doing it though and it looked more hard work than fun because they had to concentrate so much to actually fly. Instead we head to sit on the beach for a little while. That was until the water suddenly came right up to us and we almost got soaked!
There was another beach just down the road so we decided to go and have a look at that before heading back to the city so that I could go to the airport. It was a really nice family beach and even had a little beach island joined to it by a bridge. Carm said she might go back there and just chill out for the day.
Once we had finished looking at that beach we got the tram back to the train station where we started our journey back to the apartment. When we finally got back we only had to wait 5 minutes and Ben came around the corner to let us in. I jumped in the shower really quickly and then we left for the airport. Carm had decided to come with me and she was going to go straight to the cinema afterwards.
At the airport we had our final coffee together whilst I charged my ipod. I was then in a bit of a rush to get to the gate because I didn't know how long it would take to get through security and how far away the gate was so we had to have a super quick goodbye which in a way was good because it was like ripping off a plaster. Carm started crying and I could feel myself about to go…it wasn't until the plane when it really sank in though.
I made it in plenty of time to the gate and then got on the plane pretty much instantly. It was a lot nicer than I had expected and had TVs in the isles atleast which played Unknown. Even though I had watched it on my flight to Malaysia it was nice to have something to entertain me. It also sent me to sleep which was good but I was woken up fairly quickly because there was a lot of turbulence. It was really really bumpy so I couldn't get to sleep again and it made me miss Lauren because I knew then she would be laughing at me squeezing her hand if she was there.

Gran One place we DIDN'T go to when in S'pore was Sentosa Island! Or a beach. It MUST have been a big wrench parting from Carm after all your adventures together.
