Date: 28th May 2011 Place: Siem Reap, Cambodia Weather: Sunny We got up early today because breakfast was included in our room price. If I had known how bad the service was going to be though I wouldn't have bothered. When we got down stairs the girls were already there and said that the waiter had said we could have anything from the menu for free. Well we tried to order but the guy just kept sort of ignoring us. We even went up to the bar and said can we order please and he said yes but then walked over to a table with a couple on who had come in after us! He then even gave us a choice of 5 set things that were the only things we were allowed for free even though the girls were allowed anything they wanted. It finally got ordered and then we just had to wait…and wait. The omelette came out and then we waited again for some fruit. We actually gave up and were heading back to the room when we walked past him with a tray with our fruit on so we went back to eat that. Once breakfast was finished we all went into the main town and went to a beauty place. Sarah and Aoeife (pronounced Eefa) had manicures and pedicures and Carm and I had a foot massage. It was lovely and my feet clicked so much! Whilst we were having the massage we decided we fancied a glass of wine, so we went off to a little restaurant on Pub Street that looked nice and had an offer on for wine so we had a glass each whilst the girls had lunch. The place was really nice until we went to the toilet and found out it was basically joined to the kitchen, which looked really dirty in itself. It made Carm feel ill so we went back to the room to have a bit of a sleep. We stayed in the room for a few hours and I sorted out loads of Australia bits like sorting out my bus pass. We then got ready for a night out which hadn't happened in a long time. We found out though that we hadn't said a time or place to meet the girls so when we went up to their room to get them they were already gone. We didn't meet them then for the rest of the night. When we got back from dinner Carm and I sat on a balcony in the hotel listening to some music. Then a group of Dutch guys that we had met on the bus the night before showed up and came to join us. They were such a good laugh and taught us some new card games. We then all went down to watch the football game that was on that night. I got bored though so went for a wonder off to the toilet and ended up going back to the hotel on the back of a motor bike. I cleverly fell off though because the driver was terrible! Thankfully nothing too major just a graze on the top of my leg. I threw up because of the shock of it though "/ Not too fun.

Gran Oh dear... is Cambodia no more hygienic than Laos? Australia still seems a long time away, so I was surprised you were sorting out bus passes etc. Might you get there sooner than planned? The motor bike incident was NOT good to read about. Who was the driver, and what did he do about it? Thank goodness your injuries were no worse; the possibilities don't bear thinking about. DO TAKE CARE!!!
