Today we went to Chattanooga! Our first stop was the world famous Unclaimed Baggage Centre. It is a roadside attraction. There are a lot of things that you wouldn't think people could leave behind, like surfboards?! It was very weird, and honestly, not that cool. But there were a lot of people who were entranced by all the products.
The next stop was the Incline Railway, up Lookout Mountain in the Appalachian mountain range. It is the steepest railway in the world, the largest incline is 72.5 degrees. Yikes! I found it really fun, while mum and dad might have preferred something a little flatter. At the lookout at the top, you can see a lot of states, if you know what you are looking for. North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina are some. At the bottom, we went for an ice cream, because it was SUPER hot. The ice creams were massive, like 3 and a half giant scoops!
Lookout Mountain is full of things to see. Next, we went to Ruby falls! We took an elevator down 610 feet into a cave, before we started our tour. We saw lots of amazing rock formations. One looked like a donkey , another like the Leaning tower of Pisa, even one like a candle stick. We learnt lots about what the man who discovered it, Leo Lambert, and what he would have seen when he was down in the caves. At the end, we saw the main attraction, the ruby falls . They are truly amazing, and very beautiful. No one knows where the water comes from, but they do know that the water goes into the Tennessee River.
Another FANTASTIC DAY.
