Greetings from Gracie Kelly's Pub in Lucerne, Switzerland. Andrew and I are enjoying our first night in Lucerne and our first Swiss beer called Feldschlosschen! Lucerne's scenerey is absolutely beautiful! It's such a cute city with awesome architecture. The mountains and Lake Lucerne in the background make it even prettier! I will post pictures ASAP. Aside from $7 cups of coffee and $5 bottles of water-- Lucerne is a great, relaxing place to start off our adventure.

We arrived in Lucerne at around 4pm-- 3 hours later than expected (thanks to our interesting plane flight) and, unfortunately, with rain. Luckily, we made it to the hostel just before the down pours began. We're staying at the Lion Lodge Hostel. So, our plane flight...where to begin, haha! As we are preparing for departure at 10pm, the Pilot suddenly announces that there is a malfunction in one of the 3 fans that helps cool down the plane. Without the fan functioning, it would be considered unsafe to fly. At 11pm, the fan continues to fail and the plane is sent back to the terminal. About 1 hour later, the mechanics arrive and determine that it would be safer to replace the fan than leave it. Finally, at 1:30am we take off for Switzerland. Andrew slept like a baby, even though he had one of those annoying " seat kickers" behind him...I, on the other hand, got no sleep at all.

Tomorrow we are planning on checking out Mt. Pilatus and the Swiss Alps! Keep in touch and write to us on our message board! We will add pictures ASAP. :)
