We arrived in Barcelona on Friday. Myself, Emily & Becky after getting slightly lost on the metro. We ended up getting a cab to our hostel with a lovely older taxi driver who wanted to chat to me the entire way in Spanish I replied in English but I'm sure what he was trying to say was kind of understood. Emily & Becky were in the back raving to his dance music! I'm pretty sure he was trying to run over pedestrians at one point!

We stayed at the generator hostel which is really nice. We have a private room with ensuite. It's clean & relatively quiet overnight so all good there.

We wandered around the city trying to find somewhere to eat but didn't have much luck on the quiet streets of L'Eixample at 4pm. So headed to the Sagrada Familia which was near by & ate a baguette in the park overlooking it. It is so tall I couldn't get over the height of the building! It's very impressive! We then wandered back to hostel to get ready for the evening, having a drink on the way in a lovely local cafe. They spoke no English but luckily one of my few Spanish words are 'cervasa por favour' the girls were in impressed! Lol!

We chilled out in our room then set out for the evening heading out the opposite way we had ventured earlier from our hostel. Now this looked like more of the Barcelona I had read about. Lots of gaudi buildings & designer shops. We decided to take a tour of La pedrere one of gaudi's buildings. The outside was unfortunately covered up but we went up to the roof terrace which was beautiful. We then walked past casa balto which is another beautiful gaudi building. We had dinner at an amazing restaurant called Browns. I had risotto with porcini mushrooms & mozzarella & shared some bruschetta with Emily to start & we all had chocolate mousse to finish. Bec & I shared a bottle of white wine & we sat in the window people watching. It was a fantastic evening. But as we all got up at 3am to catch our flight we retired fairly early at 11pm to revive ourselves for tomo. What a Fantastic day! Xx
