This morning Dando and I wandered down to the local shop to see if we could buy any breakfast. The shop barely had anything in. I was suprised at the the amount of types of peanut butter and spreadable marshmallow available. Dando then thought that may be a stoner delicacy....? It was pouring with rain so we just went back to meet Emma and Tony.

We all went out for breakfast and then headed to the Van Gough Museum. It was really good. It had some of his famous paintings there including The Bedroom, sunflowers and the potato eaters. I liked it as you could get really close to the paintings and see them clearly. Emma and I were faster than the boys so we went to the cafe to wait for them and each had a donut. Tony shortly joined us and had some sort of pastry and a beer. Dando joined us way later (he takes ages in museums) and was quite put out we'd all had a lovely snack and he hadn't realised at the time (this was an ongoing joke all weekend) Donut gate! lol!

We then walked to Vondel Park, it is really pretty, with lakes and grass. It was full of cyclists, walkers and we noticed a few kids parties/ picnics complete with bunting. (Note to self need some bunting for my birthday). Anyway we stumbled across a stage and a rock band were playing, so we had a beer and watched them for a while. It seemed to be a permanent structured stage with grand stands all around it.

We then made our way back to our house. Had a few glasses of wine and some crisps (Dando accidently bought celery and mustard flavoured crisps and we lost a bar of chocolate). Emma picked a restaurant that sounded nice to eat that evening and we walked over there. It was full and we were abruptly told so. We wandered around and stumbled across another restaurant that seemed quite busy called de Zagerij. The food was amazing, I went off piste and tried the Veal chops with a compote of olive and tomato and tagliatelle. I then had a coffee creme brulee which was delicious as well. We then headed back to our favourite Cafe' t Small for a night cap. xxx
