Louise's Travels
We're still in Kuala Lumpur. We got up early yesterday to get tickets for the sky bridge between the twin towers. It was cool looking out over the city but they're only 41 floors up and your only allowed on the bridge for 10mins to take photos so it didn't take us long. We then spent the day shopping in only a few of hundreds of shopping plazas in th city. We found Topshop which was very exciting, although everything is western prices! We watched the match last night from our guesthouse roof garden where they gave us free chips and spring rolls.
We went to visit the Batu caves this morning which are a muslim shrine. Vaguely impressive but very touristy and not actually very big. We walked to the city gardens this afternoon and found lots of cool plants. We visited a bird park as well where the birds are mostly free to fly around the enclosure. On our way back (on a nice street next to the National Mosque and Police station) someone on a motorbike tried to steal Cate's bag as she walked along the pavement. Luckily it was round her so they couldn't take it but not good (especially in the most westernised country we've been to!)
We're heading down south tomorrow and then hopefully onto the Tiomen islands for some diving and sunbathing.
