On The Road with Lou!
So after a very long hot shower and with a full tummy and more than a few medicinal beverages I struggled to stay awake past 10 o'clock. I was also looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, which when compared against normal beds is absolutely top-notch, but when compared against mo'tel beds, is in a league of its own.
I was also missing our bidet, The Brondell Swash 1000, more info here: http://brondell.com/swash/swash-1000-bi det-seat.html If you have never experienced the fresh feeling after using a bidet, you are missing out! There is no substitution for feeling fresh down south.
I had a few people to thank that made my trip possible, so I shot a thank you video Saturday morning.
I also had great (mixed) success with my gem corn and my automated watering system.
The stalks grew about 10' high, and upon further inspection I do have a number of husks, but they are very thin. We'll see what the last few weeks of the growing season do for them. I bought the seeds online from an 'merican Indian Reservation in Wyoming. If I am successful this is what they would look like:
Some statistics
It is difficult to predict the future but it may be several years before I go on a blog worthy bike trip again. Eryn and I are tossing around the idea of going to Australia, New Zealand and Japan in 2017. That will be a month long excursion and will be quite expensive so we may take next year off to save up for it.
Thank you for your comments, words of encouragement and most of all for coming along for the ride.

Some statistics
- Average exchange rate was 23%. Dollar amounts below are CDN with exchange factored
- Stopped for gas 38 times, spent $736.12, average fuel stop was $19.37, as tracked by my AMEX card used for all fuel stops
- Average fuel price was $3.98 per gallon or $1.05 per litre
- That means 701 litres used for 11 000 kms of travel is 15.69 kms per litre or 6.37 litres per 100 kms or 59.62 miles per gallon.
- I stayed in a total of 19 different mo'tels & ho'tels, with an average price of $93.06.. The high was in Gardiner, MT just outside of Yellowstone Park at $129,89 (close second in CC at just 0.30 cents less). The lowest price mo'tel was at the West Star casino in Jackpot, NV at $37.50.
- All things considered I spent between $100 - $200 USD a day and the exchange was not my friend.

SL Great blog, Lou! I know it must have been great to see everything from a motorcycle's vantage point, but I have to say that I would still opt for a car. I am a wuss, I know!
