A blue sky and shining sun coaxed us out for a run this morning, which is a great way to familiarize yourself with a new city. Prague's downtown has many bridges in close vicinity to each other, so it is a perfect place to run back and forth across the river while enjoying the awesome views. We ran across the famous Charles Bridge and enjoyed almost the entire pedestrian bridge to ourselves, which was a stark contrast to our afternoon crossing when people were packed like sardines all the way along.
This afternoon we took further advantage of the sunshine and went exploring the area around Prague Castle. It was ridiculously busy, which led to the conclusion that we might be Monday tourists rather than Saturday ones! Luckily we were able to find sanctuary at the Prague Beer Museum Pub, where we gained temporary respite from the babbling hordes. Featuring over thirty local beers on tap, this pub highlights an emerging micro-brewing culture in the country where pilsner was born and still rules the day. There were many alternative styles on offer, including a delicious IPA that would stand up to many of our favourites. Now if we could just convince the Czechs to smoke outside...
