Day 141-142
We got up early today so that we could go into the Petronas Towers as they only allowed 800 people in per day and queuing from 8am, so that was the time we arrived after being ripped off by the taxi man. As Lorna was so tired Al went off to buy her a coffee as Lorna stayed in the queue.
Before we went up the towers we had to watch a 3D video about the towers and also for Health & Safety reasons. As soon as the lift doors open we arrived at the Sky Bridge which was the viewing deck, halfway up the towers: we were limited to only 20 minutes.
After taking our photos and arriving back down we went on the machines that told you how many of yourself you needed to be as tall as the towers; it didn't work properly as Lorna was apparantly taller than Al.
We walked to the shopping centre that had all the designer shops in from Topshop to Louis Vuitton, after browsing around these stores we went for lunch. After lunch we went to the cinema and watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall, this is where Al began to lose his patients as the woman sat next to him was eating corn with her mouth open.
The sun was shining so we decided to go and look at the Botanical Gardens. We jumped on the MRT and then it was only a short walk away, but a very interesting one. We could not find the underpass to cross the dual carriageway so we had to run across it...in flipflops. Before this happened we smelt something funny and looked down and saw the sewer's; we thought we saw a fake lizard. We were unsure if it was fake as we thought we saw it move, so we decided to throw small stones at it, when we realised in actual fact it was a real lizard basking in the sun, it was the largest wild lizard we had seen.
Once we had safely run across the dual carriageway we walked past a War Museum before heading into the Botanical Gardens. They were not as beautiful as the ones we had seen before as a lot of work was being done to them, so we headed towards the Orchid Garden. We had to walk up lots of steps, as we arrived we were suppose to pay, but managed to get past without having too. Al's love of taking orchid photos got the better of him! From here we could see the Petronas Towers and the KL Tower.
We went to the local supermarket to get our favourite Dragonfruit and some food and drink for our trip back to Singapore. We ate dinner in the hotel and booked our hotel for the remaining few days of our amazing journey.
Our journey back to Singapore was with the same company we travelled to KL with and we stopped at the same service station. The only 2 things that were different were a signpost saying 'No Spitting' in the restaurant and a giant fish in the pond.
