Hi Everyone,
So luckily we managed to avoid the rat temple as I think Dada could see the look of fear on my face when he mentioned it. Bikaner is another desert town but not as touristy as Jaisalmer and is good place to break up the journey back east to Delhi. We stayed in a lovely haveli here with a great restaurant and traditional dancing on the roof. We visited another fort but this one had a different feel to the others. Despite it being the most ornately decorated it was empty and the armoury and museum parts felt like you had stumbled upon a museum that had been closed for years and was sat gathering dust. We also visited a traditional craft museum.
We started the journey back to Delhi the next day and to avoid hitting the city at rush hour we spent the next night in a hotel near the highway about three hours outside Delhi. I don't know what it is with us and Delhi, but we don't seem to get on. As if it knew we were about to let out a huge sigh of relief for surviving nearly four weeks in India with no Delhi Belly...it decided we weren't going to get away with it that easily. So there just three hours outside the city it hit us, both of us with a vengence...
