I just love being outside!
There really is nothing like working outside with rolling hills, trees sunshine and a good days work getting done. Now spending afew days at the other sheep farm last week was the first time id really done that sort of thing and so im now out on Rosedale farm until thursday. This farm is fifteen hundred acres with roughly nine thousand sheep so everyday will involve something with those wooly animals! I have really enjoyed the last 2 days, maby becuase i dont mind hard work and just getting stuck in. From drenching lambs once again ive found the stubborness in sheep, from mooving lambs ive found that they will just follow the crowed....with the odd rebel and determined ones amoungst the gang and ones with enless entusiasm to run and leap passed you, from being there while sheep are being crutched ive learnt they can be quite untidy and ocationally break the rules.... i think they have alot of similarties to us humans really!!
On a more serious note i have enjoyed the work at the farm, begining at 7-730 am then with "smoko"- the scottish being the old tea break at 10, with lunch followed in mid afternoon and then a cool drink at 3 and finishing up around 6. Ive been involved with cructhing, drenching, mooving sheep from paddock to padock, from gate to gate, in and out fo the race. helping load them into a truck to go to the works, wieghing, and the other bits and bobs that we have been up to.... including watching the winter olimpics when were inside comes into this category i guess! :)!
You can seriously learn alot from putting entusiasm into what your doing, and thats what i think we should all do more off, and by doing all these things i have learnt that i do love to learn( appologies for the reppition of learn but you get my point), andto do this you just need to ask questions and get stuck into the job.
Sometimes asking questions you may think im going to sound silly asking this but when your coming into something new its the only way to build a knowlege and once upon a time we all had to build up a knowledge from nothing to how we are today, just ask the questions and you may find you luagh at yourself after words but if you dont ask youll never know!
Do you all find the blogs interesting and enjoyable to read and or do you have any tips on making improvements?
:)
