Day 208- We arrived at a town a taxi ride away from Nyuangshwe which was annoying. There was 5 of us going in that direction so we all jumped in a taxi. The taxi stopped just before the town and told us we had to pay 5$, we were aware this would happen but still just as frustrating. Day 205- It was a very early morning to make sure we caught our transfer to the bus station and by half 5 we were down at reception waiting for our take-away breakfast. The early rise meant we were able to see some of the local monks receive their alms which was worth it in itself. Day 203 - We managed to squeeze in breakfast before our 8:30am bus. The bus was air conditioned and only took about 7 hours so not too bad. We were dropped off in Mandalay at a bus station quite far out of the town centre. We hadn't booked any accommodation and there was a man advertising 'Fortune hotel' so we went with him, there was also a girl called Holly who came with us to the hotel. Day 201- The bus brought us into Bagan and the area of Nyaung-U for 5am. Luckily this was the area we were staying at and even better still was that the hotel offered a free pick-up service. However we were quite shocked to find the pick-up was a man on a trishaw- a tricycle with two seats, and he had to cycle the two of us plus all of our luggage, 15 mins down the road which wasn't particularly flat. Day 198 - We were awoken with shouts of 'Bangkok, Bangkok'. We were so tired and very stiff and the second we stepped off we were hassled by taxi drivers, we heard a few negotiating prices refusing to turn their meters on so we walked on down the road and flagged one down.
