7 weeks in Perth and I am writing this blog from mine and Ryan's new wee pad waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (so happy I don't think I can put it into words just how happy weeeeeeeee!).
Where do I begin? Perth is just Braw!
On the way from Springsure to Perth our connection was through Brisbane and I was surprised by Kim who I hadn't seen since she left me in Springsure! Couldn't believe my eyes.... She brought a card and a wee dream catcher for our room. I was so shocked haha she said my face was a picture! Must have looked like a right pleb at the airport greeting. Haha!
My first 2 weeks in Perth were quite stressful since I decided to be a smart arse and pack my job in back in Springsure, I had very little money to start out here with. Hats off to Ryan for not only putting up with me but taking care of me for the last 7 weeks - such a darling. I was spending days in the library using the internet to apply for jobs, spent the rest of the time cleaning our house at Mokutu Mansion (in the Northern suburb of Quinns Rocks) and doing washing haha. Living the dream.....
Ryan had been renting a room from his work mate so I moved in there where we stayed until last week. Met some really awesome people there (all from Liverpool haha) and had some good nights on the booze - one night up the City drinking cocktails on a rooftop bar and casual Friday nights in where me and Ryan consumed a litre of Vodka and I ended up throwing up haha. Other than that, spent a few weekends with Ryan's best friends who have a cracking house up in Ellenbrook - they are all Braw too! And Scottish WAHEY!!!! (Scottish banters always the best!) and another weekend where we all went to the Motocross and Margaret River (see separate blog). One Sunday Nick, Ryan and me went to Whitemans Park near Ellenbrook and went to the Wildlife park there. Met albino kangaroos and got some goat selfies haha, productive day.
Perth itself is awesome. It's getting cold now (20 degrees Hahahaha) as it's coming into Winter. Ryan calls it Little Britain since everyone here is Scottish, Scouse or Irish; there's a British chip shop 5 minutes from our old house that sells REAL chippy brown sauce; there's a cafe in Joondalup that sells potato scones, square sausage and irn bru..... It's so funny!
Anyway, I eventually got a job at a BEAUTIFUL Day Spa called Le Beau in South Perth which is a mission away from The Mokutu Mansion so was leaving for work at 6.15am and getting home around 6.30-7pm.... Not fun. But the job itself as a Spa Assistant and Trainee Receptionist is brilliant. The girls I work with are all lovely and I am responsible for events booked in like High Tea Events and Chocolate Fondues for Teen Parties so it's all exciting (and challenging). Lots to learn and it's hard graft but I got this!!
Even better now that I live a 20 minute drive from work in the beautiful Claremont. I live in a 4 block in the building block after the Vera Wang wedding gown store, on the same street as a Porsche and Bentley garage.... I mean this is just ridiculous! Haha!
The best part of all is I live with the most awesome, funny, kind hearted wee soul - my best pal and my better half, Ryan..... :)
And it's only 3 months until Team Joyce arrive!!!! THREE MONTHS!
Definitely the happiest wee lassy in all of Australia!
