Ryan's best friend Nick asked us if we want to go to the Motocross down in Manjimup since it was the public holiday weekend. Cheryl, Ryan and me were off work and Gary's contract wasn't through so we headed off at 5am yesterday morning (Sunday!!!!!! 5am!!) with rolls and munchies haha it took around 3-4 hours to get there.
I've been to a few live sporting events but never anything to do with bikes! It was really good, had a an awesome laugh especially with Cheryl who I've renamed Chezza G haha.
We were more excited to get to Margaret River which was a 2 hour drive west. We really struggled to get accommodation booked with it being the holiday and a massive motor event on but we managed to get a 2 bedroom holiday home at the Riverview accommodation and Caravan Park. It was like one of the caravan homes you stayed in at Seton sands or Haggerston Castle at home haha I totally loved it! We had drinks then headed to the pub but the licensing laws on a Sunday meant the pub was only open until 10pm...
The next day we done some of the Wineries - typically what Margaret River is famous for. I thought it was going to be really expensive but cause we weren't on a tour - Nick was driving us - you can do a tasting for free. So technically.... You could go round all the wineries and do all the tastings aka drinking all the wine for free! THERES 120 WINERIES IN MARGARET RIVER!!! We only stopped at the Watershed and Leeuwin Estate but they were both absolutely beautiful. The wine, scenery, staff and the laughs were all Braw!!
We stopped at Olio Bello for food (AMAZING, right up my street with breads, oils, balsamics, olives etc) and also a little place to try Venison tastings (venison pate, venison chorizo, you name it they had it), there was also a place for CHOCOLATE tasting!!!!! Honestly, I didn't want to come home! Gary doesn't drink wine at all and he done the tastings with us and loved it - definitely one to see and for everyone to try.
Definitely want to go to Margaret River again and highly recommended. Thanks to our little Britain team for the banter of I Spy and Dad Nick driving haha.
Boss weekend!
