We checked out a couple of parks before deciding on one.We parked up and then headed to the town and walked around. We went and confirmed our WhitSundays trip. Airlie beach is a really nice with a great buzz around the place. We got everything we needed for our trip on the WhitSundays and then headed back to the park.
The next morning we went to the harbour and waited to be called. The yacht we had was fantastic!!We chose one which could only take 13 people maximum and that way not risking the possibility of being on a party boat. There were 2 other Irish couples on the boat who were both on their honeymoon. The funny thing was they had both got married the same day during the summer and then put their honeymoons off until January to go to Australia! The weather was great as we headed out on the boat.We got to the place where we were to stay that night after about two hours. We then cracked open a few beers. We saw a dolphin come right up to the boat and entertain us for a bit. The water was so calm and it was so nice as we had dinner up on deck and then had a few beers watching the stars.
The next day we had our breakfast and headed off again. We went to a beautiful little beach called Whitehaven beach.Just like on the Reef this really was as close as you can get to paradise!! We stayed there for a while and then headed back to the boat.We moved on for a while and then stopped at an area where we could go snorkeling.Again it was brilliant!!We sailed on to a spot where we watched the sunset and stayed for the night. We had a later night than the first and really enjoyed it.The next day we got up and sailed back to Airlie Beach. The whole trip was fantastic. The quality of the boat, the weather and the people on the boat were great. We had a really good 3 days.
When we got back, the 6 of us headed to the lagoon in the centre of town and then we decided to get on the road and head for Rockhampton.
